Elegbara Ate Akuko and Owunko

This is where Elegbara ate akuko and owunko, for which a drum must be given to Eggun. Before seven days an owunko must be given to Elegbara; an ota is sought and a piece of the hide of the owunko is toasted in order to mount an inshe Ozain for the tranquility of the person. The source's narrative of Elegbara being won back with owunko and akuko is Patakín 3.

Obatala lived with his children, but next to his house lived some neighbors who were very scandalous, so that there was neither tranquility nor rest in his home. One day Obatala complained to his neighbors about their way of life, and for this he was insulted, since they believed they had every right.

Obatala, tired of so many problems with those neighbors, chose to go to another town with the sole intention of moving away. When the neighbors saw that Obatala had left, they believed he had gone in search of Ashelu, and so they went to Orunmila's house, and he saw this Ifá for them, telling them that Obatala had not gone in search of Ashelu, but that they must make ebbo because Ashelu was going to come to them.

The scandalous neighbors paid no attention to Orunmila, because the only thing they wanted was to harm Obatala. Orunmila in turn told them: do not let anyone sit at the door of your house, on the street side. With their little capacity they did not let Orunmila go on speaking, and they left him with the word of divination half said, that is, with the word in his mouth.

Meanwhile Obatala arrived in the town and met Elegba, Oshosi and Shango. They asked him what he was doing there, and Obatala told them everything that had happened and what he had had to do to avoid problems with his neighbors. Then Elegba, Oshosi and Shango went to Obatala's house, and late at night they saw people at the door of the house and said, "This is it." When they arrived, the inkan araye formed and Ashelu carried off the neighbors. Shango went to find Obatala and brought him back to his house, and so he was able to be rid of his enemies, who were his neighbors, and could live in tranquility.
